getting there

Directions: Park along the road near Gridley Trailhead just north of Ojai

Distance from LA to Trailhead: Roughly 1 hour

When to go: Any time of year is great. Check the weather before departure in case of rain or savage heat

Full adventure time: Full (long) day - we recommend leaving early

Kit list

Footwear:

  • Sturdy sneakers are fine, especially during summer. Walking boots are always a good idea

Clothing:

  • Dress for the weather

  • No technical gear required

  • Sun hat

  • Sunglasses

  • Fleece in case it gets cold

  • Windbreaker (shell jacket) in case the weather changes

  • Water: 2 ltr each recommended + more in summer if you can carry
