Directions: Parking and trailhead are located at Vivian Creek Trailhead just past Forest Falls, East of San Bernardino on the 38

Distance from LA to Trailhead: Roughly 2 hours

When to go: Summer & Fall are ideal. Winter - Spring can be snow-covered and very cold. Check the weather before departure

Full adventure time: Full (long) day - we recommend leaving early

Kit list

Footwear:

  • Recommend walking boots year-round, although sturdy sneakers can be fine during summer

Clothing:

  • Dress for the weather

  • No technical gear required

  • Sun hat

  • Sunglasses

  • Fleece for the top

  • Windbreaker (shell jacket) for the top

Other:

  • Water: 2 ltr each recommended + more in summer if you can carry it

  • Snacks: nuts, dates, dried mango, avocado & salt sandwiches

  • Sun lotion

  • Pack to carry water, snacks & extra clothes
