1-night sailing expedition to Two Harbors, Catalina Island
Organizing your trip
Sailing: Join the California Yacht Club in Marina Del Ray to get certified and rent a boat (unless you already have one) or go with a certified member & captain.
Overnight booking: Reserve your mooring spot via the Catalina Island website at Two Harbors beforehand (it can get busy).
Distance from LA: Two Harbors, Catalina is 31 nautical miles and roughly 7 hours sailing each way from Marina Del Ray (wind dependent).
Total adventure time: 1.5 days (1 night sleeping on the boat).
When to go: Spring, Summer & Fall are ideal. Always weather dependent so check with your captain before.

Once ashore there is only one restaurant and bar which is ideal for a pre-dinner/dinner drink and snack.
Be sure to go for a little walk behind the restaurant and back onto the island for some wild scenery and rolling hills.
